5 simple habits to secure your Wi-Fi
A well-protected network starts with simple habits, just as relevant at home as in the office.
1. Change your router's default password as soon as it's installed — factory passwords are often known or easy to guess.
2. Use a long, unique Wi-Fi password, different from your other passwords.
3. Enable WPA2 or WPA3 encryption on your access point; avoid open networks for anything sensitive.
4. Regularly update your network equipment's firmware.
5. On a shared network (a public Hotspot, for example), avoid entering sensitive information without a secure (HTTPS) connection.
These habits take only a few minutes but significantly reduce the risk of intrusion on your network.
